RE: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE PEORIA URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE BOUNDARY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING AND DELETING PARCELS.
Public Notice is hereby given that the municipalities of the City of Peoria, Village of Peoria Heights, City of West Peoria, Village of Bartonville, Village of Mapleton, Village of Bellevue and the County of Peoria, Illinois will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:30 am.
The hearing will be held at the Peoria County Courthouse, Conference Room 402, 324 Main Street, Peoria, IL 61602.
The reason for the hearing will be to discuss the proposed boundary amendments of the Peoria Urban Enterprise Zone Amendment #8 (PUEZ A#8) that will add parcels oﬀ MacArthur Highway, N. Knoxville Avenue, N. Wisconsin Avenue, N. Allen Road, SW Jeﬀerson Avenue in the City of Peoria; W. Route 150,
W. Development Drive, N. State Street, N. Allen Road, in Peoria County; S. Airport Road, S. Adams Street in the Village of Bartonville; N. Park Road in the City of West Peoria which meet PUEZ qualiﬁcations. PUEZ A#8 will also delete a parcel oﬀ W. Farmington Road in the City of West Peoria.
Property that is in both the enterprise zone and a redevelopment project area may not receive tax abatements unless within 60 days after the adoption of the amendments to the designating ordinances which established the eligibility for the tax abatements. The hearing will also discuss the purpose of the proposed boundary changes, and to identify any local plans, tax incentives or other programs that should be adjusted in connection with the PUEZ Amendment #8. No other changes are proposed.
At the hearing, interested persons or agencies will be aﬀorded an opportunity to be heard with respect to the aforementioned communities’ intent to amend the Peoria Urban Enterprise Zone. Citizens wishing to provide public comment should submit their comments to Zone Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2023 and citizens’ comments will be read aloud at the hearing.
