State Urges Small Businesses to Apply for $226 Million in Remaining Funds Before October 13 Deadline

To help offset COVID-19 losses for the hardest hit small businesses and communities, today Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced the first wave of grants made through the Back to Business (B2B) recovery program. To date, 521 grants totaling more than $24 million have been provided to small businesses in 39 counties and 146 cities across the state. The first wave of funds provided through this program will support a wide diversity of businesses representing multiple industries, geographies, and with more than half of the grants provided to minority-owned businesses in Illinois.
