Village of Bartonville Awarded $59,974 Energy Transition Community Grant

The Village of Bartonville was selected to receive an Energy Transition Community Grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. This program is funded by the Energy Transition Fund, created by the 2021 Climate and Equitable Jobs Act. Through a Phase 1 application process, the Village of Bartonville has been awarded $59,974. Energy Transition Community Grants must be used to plan for or address the economic and social impact on the community or region of a plant or mine retirement or transition.
Phase 2 of the grant requires a stakeholder engagement process. The Village of Bartonville will hold a Public Meeting on Monday, July 22nd at 5:45 pm at Bartonville Village Hall located at 5912 S. Adams St., Bartonville, IL 61607, to provide interested parties an opportunity to give input and feedback on the proposed use(s) of the grant.
Interested stakeholders are invited to attend and participate in the July 22nd public stakeholder meeting, provide a written statement, or provide a public comment at the July 22nd Village of Bartonville Board Meeting at 6:00 pm at village hall. Written comments should be submitted to Village Hall at 5912 S. Adams St., Bartonville, IL 61607, no later than 2 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd, 2024.
