About the Bartonville Parks

Bartonville residents take pride in the acres and acres of parks with a variety of recreational options. Lush and lavish green grasses are punctuated with picnic shelters, walking trails, playgrounds and more.  The Village does not have a park district and the parks are managed by a volunteer park committee. Restrooms are provided by way of portable sanitation units (port-a-potties) at Alpha Park and Lauterbach Park only.  No restroom facilities at Zeller or Mendenhall Boat Ramp Park.

ALPHA PARK
Alpha Park boasts over 18 acres of family recreation including a softball complex, a 9 basket disc golf course, a basketball course, 2 large pavilions, 2 playgrounds, walking trails, and a clubhouse.  Both pavilions and the clubhouse can be rented throughout the year.  There are small grills outside of each pavilion.  (See below for rental information).

LAUTERBACH PARK
Lauterbach Park is a quiet, tree strewn gem ideal for a peaceful walk.  It’s settings are perfect for weddings, reunions, corporate picnics or wondering on your own to find the best picnic spot.
Recreation includes a 1 mile hiking trail (opening fall 2024), 2 pickleball courts, a small pavilion (4 picnic tables), and in winter of 2024 playground equipment will be installed.  There is a small grill outside of the pavilion.

Lauterbach Park – 4300 W Smithville Rd

MENDENHALL BOAT RAMP PARK
Located along the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway, Mendenhall is a must stop for nature enthusiasts. This wetlands restoration areas features seasonal viewing of migratory eagles, great blue herons, snowy egrets, and other waterfowl.
This area of the Illinois River offers a wide range of sporting activities for those devoted to the outdoors. Anglers will find a vast number of pan and sport fish varieties.  Boaters of every kind enjoy miles of scenic river way.  Wildlife can be spotted all along this waterway and migrating birds bring changing delight with each season.

Mendenhall – 100 Mendenhall Rd

ZELLER PARK
Located on the former Peoria State Hospital Grounds at the corner of Pfeiffer Road and Industry Drive, this small neighborhood park is mostly shaded, hosts a small pavilion, and will soon have 4 disc golf baskets for practice.

5:30 pm at the Village Hall.

Park Donations

Donations to the parks can be made through monetary donations or by purchasing a bench or tree to be placed in one of the parks.  The

Park Pavilion & Clubhouse Rentals [CLICK HERE]

Pavilion Rentals
Shelter reservation and Fee may be made online at Bartonville RecDesk or at the Village Hall, 5912 S. Adams St., Bartonville, IL 61607.
Shelter Rental:     $25 for 6 hours; $5 additional hour; $50 all day

Alpha Park has 2 pavilions:
a. Blanquart Pavilion offers a fireplace, 11 large picnic tables, and is located next to a swing set.  A small grill is also available outside of the pavilion.
b. Lions Club Pavilion offers 11 picnic tables and is located next to a playground.  A small grill is also available outside of the pavilion.

The rental fee for a shelter is $25 for non-profit/private/family events. The fee for any for-profit enterprise is $50. These fees per shelter, per day, and should be paid at time of reservation. The renter is responsible for any damages caused by himself/herself or guests that is not reasonable normal wear and tear to village property during the rental event at the shelter. All trash must be taken to dumpster and not left in trash receptacles at pavilion. Pavilions should be cleaned before leaving. Park Rules: Signs are posted at the park entrances stating the rules and regulations of the park. Violation of any of these rules is punishable by a fine of $150 to $750.

Clubhouse Rentals
The Alpha Park Clubhouse can be rented for $100.00 for minimum of 4 hours, $25 per added hour, or all day for $300. The Clubhouse has eight, 8ft long folding tables and 60 folding chairs, has indoor restrooms, heat, air conditioning, accessible doors, small refrigerator, and 2 small microwaves. Coming in the fall of 2024, an ice machine will be added to the kitchen.

Table and chair set up and/or take down is the responsibility of the renter. Food and non-alcohol drinks are allowed. Renter agrees to clean up after the event. All trash should be removed from the Clubhouse and taken to dumpster and the clubhouse should be cleaned before leaving. All tables and chairs should be put away.  A door code will be emailed to the email you registered with 24 hours before your rental time. Please be mindful of the time and vacate the clubhouse by the end of your rental agreement.  The clubhouse may be rented right after your party.

Alcohol
Alpha Park is the only park that offers applications for liquor permits.  Alcohol permits are not offered in any other Village park and only permitted at Alpha Park if a Liquor Permit is approved by the Village of Bartonville.  A Request for Liquor permit may be made at the Village Hall, 5912 S. LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP POOL 
COME OUT AND ENJOY  SUMMER FUN AT THE LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP POOL

The Limestone Township Pool, located in Alpha Park is open Memorial Day weekend until the start of the school year.  “Pool Days”, a festival heal in early June at Alpha Park benefits the pool.
